I ask for a $500 holding fee to reserve your puppy and secure your place in line once your application has been approved and we chat over the phone.. Here are a few questions and answers you may have. Feel free to reach out to me for more information. 505-569-4885. I won't bite I promise!
Why do you charge a holding fee?
Holding fees protect both you and I. Your holding fee guarantees you get the puppy you want. Holding fees are transferrable (under certain circumstances). To hold a puppy, I require a portion of the puppy's price as a down payment.
Holding fees are nonrefundable and puppies will not be reserved until payment is received. Electronic payments are accepted for the holding fee. Cash only for pick up. A, signed and returned hold fee contract is required prior to placing a hold on a puppy. It's easy to prove if you send your hold fee Electronicly.
You will receive a receipt for your payment, via email. If you are ready to apply for the next litter of sugar babies please call, email or text me and I'll email you my application. If I don't answer please leave a message. Holding fees are first come first serve. Once I receive a holding fee I will begin sending and posting videos of the Sugar Baby at play so you can see the personalities and make your choice of which Sugar Baby is right for you. As always, I reserve the right to pick of the litter if I am holding one back for myself. My Sugar Babies have their 1st vaccination and exam around 9 weeks. Most puppies are ready for their furever homes around 10 weeks; although I have held puppies back that I felt needed more time with me or they hadn't yet reached the 2 pound mark. Maltese are susceptible to hypoglycemia until around 12 weeks. Be sure you read up on that if your lil one is otherwise ready to leave home before then. You will need to have some supplies on hand.

Why are Holding Fees nonrefundable?
When you place a hold on a puppy I stop advertising that puppy. Other people are no longer given a chance to buy that puppy because he/she is being held exclusively for you. If you decide you no longer want that puppy I have to spend time re-listing and advertising and trying to resell that puppy. As puppies get older it is harder to sell them. People who are in the market for a puppy are generally looking for a young puppy. While I have been holding the puppy for you, it has gotten older, which means it will be harder for me to sell, which means the puppy may not be placed in a new home at a time that would be easiest for the puppy. Older puppies have a harder time because they have already learned my "house rules" and it must now re-learn their new owners rules. It just isn't fair to the puppy any way you look at it. I lose time and money when someone backs out of a purchase and it's not good for the puppy. That's why holding fees are
nonrefundable. The holding fee may be transferrable under certain circumstances and ONLY if I am notified by the time the puppy is 6 weeks old. (subject to change).
How do I know I won't be scammed?
I was scammed myself. The first 2 Maltese I purchased I was unable to breed. I got the dog but not in the size or condition I paid for.. So I know what its like to be scammed. I understand your reservation about buying online.. There are so many scammers out there. Here are a few ideas to help you in your search. FaceTime with the breeder and puppy more than once. Ask for references from prior litters and call them all. Ask to FaceTime with their puppy. Most puppy owners love the chance to brag and show off their new furbaby. Request the name of the breeders veterinarian. Google that veterinarian and even call. Most can't/won't tell you private details but they can confirm the person is real. You must do your due diligence to ensure you are not a victim.
How do you arrive at your prices for your puppies?
My prices are based on color, size, and conformation of each puppy. My Sugar Babies are for PET HOMES ONLY. I've invested a substantial amount of money and time into my pack. I've tested each adult dog for the AKC/OFA recommended health test at the appropriate age before breeding and I feed high quality pawTree food from day one. I've invested countless hours grooming, teaching, cleaning, and playing with them. I don't take shortcuts. My sugar babies are turf trained (not the cheap amazon turf) and I get them comfortable with being in a crate. I have sleepless nights so you don't have to. I feel my time, efforts and expenses are worth what I charge for my healthy sugar babys.
Why do your puppies come microchipped?
I love all my Sugar Babies. Microchipping my Sugar Babies before they leave me ensures they will always be identifiable if they are lost or stolen. This is non negotiable. I save you having to worry about having it done at your expense. All you have to do is notify AKCReunite if you change your phone number or move.
If I am an out of state buyer how can I pay for my puppy?
If you are an out of state buyer I ONLY take hold fees and full payment through gooddog. It protects both of us. This is non-negotiable.

For the safety of my family and my pack, I no longer allow buyers into my home. I will happily provide past buyers as references as well as FaceTime through Facebook messenger so we can all meet.
